There are a number of ways in which we can provide support in your school.
The therapy service allows multiple pupils to be seen at school and can be brought in as part of school life. 1:1 and group sessions can be provided to work with children displaying challenging behaviour and with those in need of extra emotional support. When children find their emotional problems are alleviating, they are better able to engage with the classroom environment and attainment can then improve.
There are a number of training options available to schools;
- one day training events to cover the neuroscience of trauma and ACEs, the impact these have on pupils, how best to spot the children who may need support, and how to support these children. Please note bespoke training packages are available
- after-school staff workshops to train key staff to be able to work with children showing signs that they may need some support
The Sunrise parent support programme is also available; a 6-week workshop for parents with the aim of improving awareness of ACEs from a therapeutic point, and improving relationships at home and with school.
